The fig is described in Mr. Pons’ book as having a deep red interior with excellent flavor. This description carries significant weight as not many other varieties share this standing by Mr. Pons.
In our experience, flavor has only improved over the years. In fact, its deep berry and complex sugar tones surpass many of other top tier figs. The figs are succulent in texture and have the ability to form honey or nectar at the ostiole.
