Del Cor Plant
Del Cor is a Spanish variety documented and preserved by Monserrat Pons. The variety originates from Sant Joan. Mr. Pons describes the fig as having an intense color with sweet flavor, and quite pleasant. Such description is typically reserved for the best varieties in his collection. We can confirm that over the years this variety has produced sweet, dense, and very flavorful figs. The pulp is deep red. This fig is very exquisite, rich in flavor, with figgy and complex berry tones. The texture is very dense (not expected to be honest) almost like Coll de Dame types. At the proper ripe point, the fig can show some cracking. The tree is a vigorous grower with very ornamental leaves. The figs appear to be split resistant. Excellent variety.
